The condition you are having is due to a programming issue. I tried to find a simple solution for you, but there were a lot of gray areas online. What I did find was a number you can call to rectify this problem. There is a procedure you can perform yourself, but it is not exactly clear unless you call the manufacture (that is the low side of aftermarket devices). The number is 1-800-753-0600. This is a support number, and have the model number ready and vehicle info ready when you call.

What is the valet button and what does it do?

Valet mode on remote starts is there so that when you have someone working on your vehicle the start button for your remote start won't work. Say you're getting an oil change and for some reason the button is pressed, the vehicle wont start with the technician under it and no oil in the engine. In your owners manual it will tell you how to turn Valet mode on and also how to turn it off.

These issues can both be solved through programming. The crank time needs to be extended and the door locks (may) need to be set to double pulse. Can you unlock the doors by pressing the unlock button twice within one second?

Please read all the way through to familiarize yourself with the process before beginning.

Let's try the programming; you will need the vehicle key and the remote. The control/programming switch is located in the antenna on the windshield.

Turn the key on then off; press and hold the control button on the antenna to select the menu. One honk of the horn/flash of the parking lights indicates menu one(1). Now, press and release the button five (5) times (door lock pulses), then press and hold the button. While holding the control button on the antenna, press the lock button on the remote once. You should hear two horn honks/flashes from the parking lights. The system is now set for double pulse unlock. DO NOT RELEASE THE CONTROL BUTTON.

We will now advance to the third menu; release the control button, immediately press and hold the control button. After three seconds the system will begin to advance to the next menu. You will hear two horn honks/flashes from the parking lights. Continue to hold the control button to advance to the third menu. You will hear three horn honks/flashes from the parking lights. Now, press and release the control button three times, then press and hold the control button. While holding the control button, press and release the lock button on the remote. You should hear two horn honks/flashes from the parking lights. Two flashes/horn honks is .8 seconds cranking time. Release control button. Turn ignition on to exit programming/learn routine. Test the system.

If after testing the system , you require a longer cranking time; re-enter the programming/learn routine, menu three, option three and press the lock button on the remote once to advance to one(1) second cranking time.

The programming/learn routine exits if the ignition is turn on, the control button is pressed too many times or there is no activity for 30 seconds.

If your Ford 250 Diesel is equipped with an immobilizer key (PATS) then you have two options. One would be the PKALL and you can find more information about the unit at bypasskit.com. It comes ready to install out of the box with no programming necessary. It requires two programmed keys to program the module. The next option is using a programmed key inside a universal bypass module (keybox).

How to turn light on the python 990 remote?

If you just want the LCD backlit turned on, press and hold the program button on the back of the remote until the remote gives a long tone, that indicates that you've entered programming mode. Then within 5 seconds of entering programming mode press the the unlock button. The remote will beep once for backlight on and twice for backlight off. In the "on" setting your backlight will turn on each time a button on the remote is pressed. It will run down your battery faster though. It's the same for both the 990 and the 950 remotes.

It should be the same as the Avital 2 way LCD remote. Try pressing the "P" button on the back along with the unlock button simultaneously until the remote vibrates. If you got it right the remote will vibrate and you'll see a small symbol above the car on the remote that looks like a box with a vertical zig-zap line on each side. To switch it back to audible beep mode repeat the step and it should toggle the option back.

Have a mazda 6 GS 2010. When I use the starter in

I cannot tell you why the factory alarm is triggering at one place and not the other but I can tell you that the remote starter is not disarming the factory alarm.
In order to disarm the factory alarm, the remote starter must supply a ground pulse to the disarm wire at the body control module (BCM). The BCM is located in the driver side kick panel and the wire is black in pin "L." To arm the factory alarm, the same wire needs a ground pulse through a 1k ohm resistor.
I have not installed the 1401, so I am not sure if that particular unit has outputs for factory arm and disarm, most DEI products do have at least a disarm wire that is light green/black. This wire outputs a negative pulse that should disarm the alarm without the addition of relays. If 1401 is equipped with a alarm rearm wire it would most likely be green/white. This wire also outputs a negative pulse but it will not be sufficient in rearming through a 1k ohm resistor without a relay. The relay terminal would be wired as follows if the 1401 is capable of this feature:

30 = vehicle black wire (solder in 1k ohm resistor)
87 = chassis ground
87a = no connection
85 = green/white wire of 1401
86 = 12v constant (fused - 5A is more than enough)
