  • Customer was concerned about some lights on his alarm. I told him that they were suppose to be there and there is no issue with them. I went through the procedures with the FOB on how to disarm his alarm should go off. I basically went through how to use his FOB.

Hope you can help. Older

Sounds like you are in "valet mode". If you can find your model number located on the unit I could be of more help. But, you can try putting the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, press the valet button located under the dash, in the glove box, or where ever it is located, and then turn the ignition off and you should be out of valet mode.

The unit is not sending

I would suggest either connecting the 5V output to a 5V relay, and use that relay to trigger the 12V relay coil. The other option would be to apply the 5V output to the base of a power transistor in series with the 12V relay coil.

I recently installed a python

It's possible that the installer has the engine monitoring option programmed for voltage and, the unit sees a drop in voltage when operating the trunk...causing the remote starter to shut down. If so, try programming the unit for tachless instead or, hook up the tach wire.

Is the 592 safe for

Yes, the 592 is actually designed for a manual transmission remote starter installation. Your only concern should be the installation of said component. If the unit is installed properly, there should be no problem with the unit or your vehicle.

I am trying to find

The valet switch on that model is part of the "control center". The antenna, LED and valet switch is all one piece and is most likely mounted on the top edge of the windshield by your rear view mirror. There's a small behind right by the flashing LED light. That's the button for programming different features of the system and programming in remotes. Hope that helps.

I have a 2005 Subaru Outback with the Python 911

Hello Ihemker,

I understand that you are having a problem with you Python 991 system. The problem is that you front and rear parking lights are not turning off when the alarm is set. Python does not have a suggestion as why this is happening. However, usually resting the system will revert the system to the last good setting.

The system needs to be rest. You can disconnect the car battery for five minutes. The security system has a back up battery that will save the settings of the alarm. If this does not work you will need to take it the a dealer and have them reset the unit.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

How do I remove the

you should see a split on the top of the remote, use a small flat head screw driver (like a jewelers flat head) and carefully insert it in the split and attempt to pry the top (button) side plate away from the case. There are 3 retention clips on each side of the front and back plates that hold them to the gray center plastic.
It's easiest to start from that crack and carefully continue prying along the parameter. Remember, the clips are attached to the black plates, so attempt to pry the gray piece away as you pull the black plate up and away.

I'm trying to install a Python 991 Remote Start /

It is not the "control center" that needs to be switched. The unit itself must be programmed for automatic transmission. The antenna (control center) must be connected to the module for normal operation. Merely connecting the two does not initiate a reaction from the LED. You MUST enter the programming mode (ignition on , ignition off, press and hold programming button until you hear three chirps from the siren). The three chirps are remote starter programming options. After you hear the three chirps, press and release the programming button once then, press and hold the button (you will hear one confirmation chirp), now press and release the lock button on the remote (you should hear two chirps from the system). The unit is now programmed for automatic transmission.
There are several other programming options for your particular vehicle (not mentioned) that may be NECESSARY for the proper operation.
