I can't find a valet switch for my python 460hp?

you can find the "brain" by tracing the wire from the LED blinking light to the brain than look for a grey and black wire which is the valet switch. Don't look for a toggle switch either, your looking for a little black button not a silver toggle but a little black button. Depending what vehicle you have also matters, for instance if you have a GM truck look in the side dash fuse panel or look BEHIND the hood latch handle. It's a ***** to find sometime but essential that you know both where it is and what it does and how it works.

take the battery out for a few minutes then replace it, or if you have many custom settings, you have to press and hold the side button until options pop up.

IM GONNA BE HONEST, I HAVE NOT USED THIS DEVICE, BUT I HAVE A PRESTIGE ALARM WHICH IS MUCH THE SAME.

Hold the buttons in combinations. by themselves and so on until you get a menu, then press a button to change the value or the option, this is the best way to get to know your 2way responder....

GOOD LUCK AND PLS RATE THIS POST FIXYA!!!!!

You LIKELY have electrical leakage in the door switches. Check these with an ohmeter on a high range. Check your wiring as well.

Electronic devices are sensitive to small leakage currents not detected by usual testers.

You MIGHT alksoi check your main battery connections in the vehicle. These can become intermittent and when you start the car you burn off the oxidatioon and they are good for a bit.

One of my remotes will no longer operate my Python

This is a common problem on these and the equivalent viper models. We sent all our units back to viper and they have now re-released the units. We had installed these units into customers vehicles and about 50% had the same issue your having. Even after they were reprogrammed, many returned with the problem again. My advice is to contact python and have the unit replaced.

under the dash there is a black/red wire, this is your starter wire, there might be a starter kill relay line line with this wire, unplug the relay and run a jumper wire from pin 30 to pin 87, this will bypass the relay

Please let me talk to

Here is the learn routine for Python 99# series alarms; it is used to add transmitters or to change button assignments if paired transmitters.

Note: The learn routine may be locked if previously programmed using the Bitwriter. This is done to make your system safer from 'educated' thieves, but is not usually done by the average shop. If the horn generates one long honk when attempting to program the unit, the learn routine is locked and must be unlocked using the Bitwriter before proceeding. So you'll need to go to a shop, or buy yourself a Bitwriter. (I gather many shops don't even charge for this service, since a happy client is likely to come back and buy more gear.)

The Valet/Program switch, plugged into the blue port, is used for programming. There is a basic sequence of steps to remember whenever programming this unit: Door, Key, Choose, Transmit and Release.

1. Open a door. (The GREEN wire, H1/8, or the VIOLET, H1/6 must be connected.)
2. Key. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
3. Choose. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Program switch the number of times corresponding to the desired channel listed below. Once you have selected the channel, press the switch once more and HOLD it. The LED will flash and the horn will honk (if connected) to confirm the selected channel. Do not release the Program switch.
4. Transmit. While HOLDING the Valet/Program switch, press the button on the transmitter that you would like to control the selected receiver channel. The unit will chirp to confirm that the code has been successfully programmed.
5. Release. Once the code is learned, the Valet/Program switch can be released. Your new remote is now paired.

Python Channel List:

1 Auto Learn Standard Configuration* (default)
2 Arm only
3 Disarm only
4 Silent Mode™/Remote Valet/Trunk Release RED/WHITE
5 Remote Start
6 Channel 4 VIOLET/BLACK
7 Channel 5 WHITE/BLACK
8 Channel 6
9 Short Run/Turbo
10 Timer Mode
11 Arm/Disarm/Panic
12 Panic only
13 Defogger Control
14 Delete all transmitters**

Channel 1 is what you want.

You can advance from programming one channel to another by releasing the Valet/Program switch and tapping it to advance channels and then HOLDING it. For instance: You have programmed Channel 1 and you want to program Channel 2. Release the Valet/Program switch. Press it one time and release it to advance from Channel 1 to Channel 2. Now, press and HOLD the Valet/Program switch. The LED will flash two times and the horn will honk twice (if connected). As before, do not release it. If you want to program Channel 3 after programming Channel 1, release the Valet/Program switch, press it twice and release it to advance to Channel 3. Then press it once more and HOLD it. The horn will honk three times (if connected) and the LED will flash three times to confirm it is ready to receive the code from the transmitter.

I hope that helps.

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.

Stand close to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10 seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open button as the car opens.

The above procedure is applicable to a lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on the remote fob.

Good luck and Rate this.

Cheers.
