Remote locks don't work
no, that is a switch to detect the hood being opened. The valet switch is a small button or switch and could be anywhere inside the car. Most installers place them near the driver. Check in the center console, around the drivers side kick panel, under the dash, etc.
Remote won't work
Many car alarms use an algorithm to "roll" the code. The code is different each time you press the remote. The brain knows which code should be next, if they don't line up, it won't work. Try pressing the arm/lock button about 10 times to re sync the units. If that doesn't work then it is possible that the fuse(s) for the alarm have blown.
