Does item have a fuse? Burned out
i have the same one ...and i'm not seeing a fuse, there may be one internally
does the inverter have strong "burnt wire" smell if so it is probably fried.
IT KEEPS BLOWING CAR FUSES
Power inverters can do this if they are internally shorted or they are being over loaded. If you are just using it to charge a phone or a computer it should not be over loaded. Now if you are charging a computer and running a small cooler at the same time, that may be real close to max which may blow a fuse. Have you tried hooking it straight to the battery to see if it will run what ever you are running. It has it's own fuse so if it has an internal short it will blow that fuse. It if works hooked to the battery and is just blowing the cig lighter or acc. fuse it can be a weak socket. If the socket is hot it may have a loose wire on the back side causing low voltage which can blow a fuse. So hook it to the battery direct, if it works ok there, reconnect it to your acc port and if it is getting hot it may be the weak socket. If it will not run hooked to the battery, it has an internal short and it would be better to buy new than try and fix. Sorry.
I need to replace the fan. Where do I find one.
you may find that walmart has those for under 20.00 and a fan is 25.00 and you take a huge risk of electric shock and damage to your car or equipment trying to do a stupid pos inverter, get my drift?

When inverters go bad this way, it's usually a diode that's broken down. They're easy to test with an ohmmeter- you will get an open reading one way (reverse biased), and will read a few hundred to a couple thousand ohms the other way (forward biased). Other than that, the other components will have to be troubleshot.
A transformer ot power transistors will have to be checked out. You can google articles that explain how to check them, if needed.

Usually the mating one has been degraded or damaged as well. Replace as a pair, or all of them that are in the same function.
OFTEN driver transistors and drive diodes are also damaged. Carefully check all associated components to avoid burning out freshly replaced ones.

Don, There are two ways in which I would have satisfyied the 6 foot guide line. 1. Mounted the VECTOR under the hood. 2. Supplied the VECTOR with additional "bed mounted" battery to be charged via the present wiring with a two pole single throw "knife switch" as as the "connect/disconnect to the vehicle battery/alternator for charging the new battery. In any case, you should make it a twice yearly thing to inspect the 15 feet of wire now installed, for wear and tear faults that could result in sparks, smoke, fire. You may need to visit local electrical supply house to see what they have to offer in the way of small "breaker-boxes" that may be capable of handling such large GAGE wire. I MEAN #2 gage wire IS very thick and expensive per foot!!!! A disconnect box similar to type found mounted to brick-work and next to and connecting a 1.5 to 2 ton central air unit might do the trick. But anyhow, if you are not going to use the VECTOR disconnect the POSITIVE lead at the battery and tape the connector with electrical tape to be safe. Burnt out
internal failure possibly on power side, lower than 300A fault current so unit could not trip i/p protection and as fault was post ac section, continued to burn internally.
it just broke
no breakers tripped out so it kept drawing current until the fault burnt away.
maybe this is what happened, need to know a lot more info to change hypothisis
Same inverter, running low power items. Fans do not operate.
Some inverters don't like being turned on without a load pluged in to it. Try plugging in and turning on an appliance (eg a soldering iron) before connecting the inverter to the battery. If you still get a fault it may be an internal fuse or electronic problem. In this case you'll need to get it repaired.

As you probably already know, if you google that error message you get a lot of hits, and without more info it's hard to isolate the cause, but scanning with MBAM will be a good start. If that doesn't take care of it we need more details anyway.

Compressor quit working
It sounds like it burnt out, unless there is a fuse someware in the unit. Were you filling the tire while it was mounted on the vechicle. I had one in a couple of my vechicles over the years, and you really need to remove the tire, or they are actually lifting the car, which they are not meant to do.
