Make sure the unit is programmed to automatic transmission (if this is a automatic transmission vehicle). Make sure the switch is actually in the on position and not off (mislabeled). Check the hood shutdown pin switch and make sure that it is making contact with the hood when closed. Check the connection for the black/white wire.
