Hi Friend,

6to4 adapter is a component used for transmitting IPv6 packets trough IPv4 network correctly.

In some scenarios, there will be a code 31 or code 10 error appearing beside this component. A possible reason is, the network adapter doesn't support this feature. You may update the driver for your network adapter or chipset, and then try to Uninstall and reinstall the this component.

To Uninstall the component, right-click the item in Device Manager and select Uninstall.

To reinstall the component, in Device Manager, Action - Add Legacy Hardware - Next - "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list" - Network adapters - Microsoft - Microsoft 6to4 Adapter - Next - Finish the wizard.

If the steps above doesn't solve the problem, your network adapter is not a supportive one for this component. You can completely ignore this error, if there isn't IPv6 network deployed in the environment. The error won't affect your system.

To remove the error message, please right-click the Command Prompt and run as administrator, type the command netsh in 6to4 set state disable, press Enter. The component will be disabled and hidden.

Regards
Chiranjeet

Can not pair to my computer.

If you see this status associated with a Microsoft 6to4 Adapter on a computer running Windows Vista in a home environment, you may be able to uninstall the 6to4 adapter to resolve the problem. To uninstall the 6to4 adapter, right-click it and click Uninstall. After you uninstall the 6to4 adapter (or if the problem is not associated with the Microsoft 6to4 adapter), it may also be helpful to run an automated troubleshooting service from the Microsoft Support Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=192795).
If your computer is part of a business network, consult your network administrator for the most appropriate action. There may be company tested drivers for your computer or there may be other considerations before you disable any IPv6 components.

Repair microsoft 6 to 4 adapter on a toshiba satillite l355-

One solution is to uninstall and reinstall the device driver in the device manager.

To do this, press the Start button, then right click on the "Computer" entry, and the "Manage" entry.

Double click on "Device Manager" and find the 6to4 adapter. Right click and select "uninstall"

Restart your computer.

In the Device Manager again, in the top bar select "Action" then "Add Legacy Hardware" then click next. Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list" > Network adapters > Microsoft > Microsoft 6to4 Adapter. Then click finish.

Restart again.

If this does not fix the problem, disable the error by opening the start menu, typing in "cmd", right click and "Run as administrator".

In the window that pops up, type
netsh in 6to4 set state disable

then press enter. And restart your computer.

6 to 4 adapter no working and 1 Sat adapter #2 adapter not on, so I cant connect to internet, how can I fix this

I would like to bring to your notice one of the issue that came across with a Vista based PC of a EU who reported in his mail that in "Device" manager their are 6 to 4 adaptor is listing by name itself and for this he is unable to install any drivers as it is showing that the drivers are not installed for it. Even though EU is able to browse the internet.

Normally the above issue is related to TCP/IP transmission protocol that uses by Vista. As Vista by default support IPv6 TCP/IP protocol for data transmission over the network. 6to4 adapter is a component used for transmitting IPv6 packets trough IPv4 network correctly. If the drivers for this component is not properly installed or corrupted there will be a code 31 or code 10 error appearing beside this component. You may update the driver for your network adapter or chipset, and then try to uninstall and reinstall the this component as mentioned below. I am enclosing a snapshot of the issue along with the mail so that you can also have a clear idea of the issue.

Device manager problem!

It sounds like Windows is not recognizing the digital signature of the drivers. If they are the current Dell drivers, you can simply ignore the flags.
If you are bothered by them, you can try removing the device from the D.M. and re-installing to try to resetting the digital signatures. (this may not remove the flags)

Hello, i have a hp notebook which code 31 error on

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932520
Microsoft says to Ignore the problem, and the adapter will continue to work correctly. If the message is really annoying maybe you can try turning off IPv6.
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

right click your network card>properties
uncheck the IPv6 box
that'll turn off IPv6-then just disable the adapter driver
