My Coby tv RC-056 volume is not coming up, even though the button moves in both directions

The buttons could not be working anymore that controls the volume on your TV and the part that controls the volume in your TV needs to be replaced.

COBY LEDTV1526-power up issue. I press the power button on the back of the set. The blue power light under the screen comes on. The LED comes on for a second, then the whole thing shuts down.

That sounds like an over-voltage shut down. Most modern TVs use a sophisticated power supply which feeds several well regulated(+/- .25% or better) , well filtered voltages to the electronic circuits. Typically, one or more filter capacitors fail, causing the voltage to rise. That will trigger the over-voltage circuit to shut down the unit.

I own a coby 7

When you have the Android with the exclamation point, press & hold the up volume, then press & release the power button, then release the up volume button. You should be on a screen where you can use the volume buttons to select where you can enter recovery, then use the down volume to highlight/wipe the cache partition. Select with the power button, then sit back while it wipes the cache and reboots. This could resolve your problems without a factory reset. Good luck.

I hate to be the one to tell you this; but, as a computer guy for over 30 years, at first you could do something; but, nowadays, you can't. That's intentional by design. The purpose of the password is to keep people from stealing your computer or whatever, and without it, it's a brick. Sorry. A desktop computer can sometimes be an exception; but, depending upon the type of protection, usually not even them.

There may be mfr. updates for your tablet. Go to Settings/About Device/Software Updates to check for any updates. You have to be connected to wifi to do the update. There are also alternate ROM distributions that can be used to give your tablet better functionality if it is limited. One such I have used is Uberoid. See UberoidTool Installing Uberoid was never this easy DOWNLOAD Go to the Home page of this site and read through the discussion forum for your particular 'flavor' of tablet. One caution - if you don't have access to a copy of your current tablet ROM, you could end up 'bricking' the tablet by going this route. All of these alternate distributions use the SD card external memory slot to make their changes.
