We installed the ActiveSync software in our MC9000 Symbol Hand Held Barcode scanner. When we change out batteries the ActiveSync software on the hand held is wiped out. We then have to go in and reinstall ActiveSync and all the .Net Compact Framework, SQL CE database server, Symbol device file, ans HHD Mobile Application files. Any advice on how to prevent this from happeining?

there are many solutions on the market, an Motorola Ring Scanner RS507 could be a good solution for you. It is simply an small device connected wireless through Bluetooth connection to an Motorola Mobile Device or other Bluetooth enabled computer.
If you just want an replacement for PDT6846 an MC9090 device is the evolution in this series. Its not so heavy and more ergonomic.
The choice is yours and the market offers a solution for many requests.

You need to go to www.symbol.com, go to the support tab, software downloads, and select your device. Find the newest DCP that is free and you should be able to figure this out from there. If you have questions let me know.
