    I have done a full Norton scan plus NPE Norton ad my system is not infected. The 'Microsoft' message continues to appear, so i do not except your solution

  1. Download the StartupCPL.
  2. When the download completes, open the zip file and run the Startup.exe file.
  3. Look under each tab for 1xcetime.exe, or similar. Right click on the entry, and disable, or delete it.
You may also want to run a scan using Combofix. It is an excellent tool for removing problems, and it can find and fix problems Norton, and similar won't find or fix. Download Combofix here: http://www.infospyware.net/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
