I bought a zinwell converter box but no remote but have a universal phillips remote need to know the code or how do i get it going
OK, I have a Zinwell box that was working perfectly until a friend tried it in his new apartment. Two problems (a) he misplaced the remote over there, and (b) he reprogrammed it so it now only gets four crappy channels instead of the previous fifteen.
Will try to get him to search for remote. Meanwhile ar 4am:
I have two universal remotes, old Magnavox and newish Ptimesat. Primesat looks good but doesn't seem to have search fubction -- does it> Tried to get Zinwell to work on Aux wth code 591 but no luck, Search on Magnavox got one partial result but failed again. Help?
(b) Is there any way to reprogram the box manually, without a remote? I want my channels!

Not a complete solution, but, around the last page (pg. 14) of your converter box manual there are codes listed for universal remotes. I happen to have a Philips remote that is listed. My code to control my dtv box is 0354. It appears that they have all codes listed for all Radioshack model universal remotes. I would suggest getting a Radioshack remote for Your "Digital Stream" (Radioshack) dtv box...
