Hi I have a problem. I forgot my password to log in and need to reset my password on my laptop. I didn't create a password reset disk, so I can't use a USB flash drive to reset it.

If you can, burn a cd with the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor on it.
here. Just grab the cd Image if you want to burn it to a disc
(You can use any free program like Deep-Burner, or Active-Iso to burn the image.
You can also get a floppy version, and a usb version.
The cd you will create will be bootable, so just start up your Laptop with the disc in the drive.
This utility only resets the password, if you want to recover it, you can use an Ophcrack Live Cd, available here. You can burn the iso file with Active-Iso also.

If you have Win XP, when you start up your computer, hold down the F8 key. A boot menu will appear. Select Safe Mode. If you click your user name, an "administrator" user will appear in the list of users on your system. If you type in your user name, type "administrator", there is no password required. Once you are logged in as administrator, go to the User control panel and click your normal user name and click change password, create a password and you'll all set. If you use Win Vista, there is no way to recover your password. If you have system restore discs, use them to restore your system, remember, all your personal files will be lost and your computer will return to its original factory default settings.
