Where do I find router passcode - Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router

Most routers today no longer use the easily defeated WEP encryption. Most all use WPA/WPA2. Thar said, you must know the passcode as most routers will not display the code even internally (just shows a string of ******). The only thing you can do is go into router setup and change the passcode to something you know. But then all other devices attached to the wireless network must change passcode as well.

The passphrase is stored in your router. You will need the passcode to connect to your router. Usually the passcode is located on a sticker in the back of your router on a sticker. If not, you will need to log into your router to retrieve it.

well, you will want to make sure that you have access to the network password if you have one set. Most issues i've ever had with connecting to any router has been an incorrect security setting.
1. make sure that you know the security type (ie: WEP, WPA, WPA2)
2.once you have been able to verify that, get the password for the router (if you haven't modified the passcode it is typically printed on the device).

KEEP IN MIND:
you have to know the case of the passcode. these passcodes are case sensitive, and one character off will cause it to not work.

3.make sure that in the dialogue on the computer being used, that the security settings being used in the setup are the same as the ones the router uses.
4.make sure u enter the passcode exactly the same way as it is set in the router. passcodes are case sensitive.

If there are any issues, it is probably a nuance in the software on the computer itself. routers are pretty bulletproof when it comes to any bugs, so it is usually the client device to blame for software issue.

one thing that may help is to simply unplug the router, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in if all else fails. this will cause the router to reboot, and can sometimes iron out small bugs.

there should be a reset button in your router just press and hold it, it will reset the router and you have simply reset your passcode.

Either you can find the passcode by login into Wirless Router or reset the password from Wireless Router itself.

log into the router to check/change the passcode. (example Linksys WRT54G)
1. plug a computer into one of the router ports.
2. open a web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1
3. login (default is username: admin/password: admin)
4. go to 'wireless'
go to 'wireless security'
5. the passcode should be displayed, or you can edit it.

If you are connecting to your 2wire router wirelessly you need to put int he 10-digit WEP passcode, this would be a 10 digit number on the bottom of the router near the serial number, it is usually in brackets like "[6123234645]" for example.

in order to get it, you need to access the setup page of your router. for most routers, all you need to is open a web browser and enter the router's ip address.
