I replaced the oven element in my Kenmore Range Model # 790.95748990 due to it catching on fire. After replacing it, we are getting the F3 code on the top. I read other emails saying it was the sensor, would this be the same, or is it something else on this model? Thanks for your help.
My daughter's one year old GE JPB72 standalone range with oven just had the oven element crack and catch on fire. She had just turned the oven on preheat and heard a loud pop and saw flames in the oven. I was on the phone with her when it happened and told her to turn the breaker off. This sounds like a defective product not just a normal wearing out issue. Any comments?? GE hotline told her it would cost $70 for the service call plus parts and labor.
