If the error is tE (instead of EE), then your Samsung washer has a problem with the temperature sensor. This is a thermistor on most of their models. If the machine is under warranty, contact Samsung for the repair. Otherwise, please add a comment with the full model number of the washer or dryer with the error. Assuming the part hasn't come loose (it's held by some clips), it needs to be replaced.
To check out the part, you need to unplug the appliance and get behind it. Then take off the back panel. The thermistor on the washer is mounted near the bottom of the back of the washer tub.
For Samsung dryers, the code could be Et. Then the EEPROM is faulty and again needs to be replaced.
