Dell laptop pointer problem

The pointer move erratically to lower left side corner and stays there. sometimes to upper right corner.

    I have a dell 8200 with the same problem,the pointer move erratically to lower left side corner and stays there. sometimes to upper right corner

    same problem.. pointers broke i think :( my cursor keeps moving to the bottom left of the screen on its own gradually worsening..

Hi,
This is a very common problem for most Dells this age.
You can try this repair if you feel comfortable.
Remove the keyboard by removing the power button bar (just gently pry up from the right side working left)
re-insert the mouse cable which is coming from the pad/palm rest. Re-assemble.
Check if all the screws on bottom of the unit are tight, especially around the palm rest area.
