The solution to this problem will result on the deletion of all data. Turn off your iPad, then, connect your iPad to your computer while pressing and holding the home button. Let go of the home button when your iPad says, "Connect to iTunes," and then restore using iTunes.

plug it into the original computer that you set it up with and through itunes you will be able to reset it. Once the ipod appears under devices click on the restore button it will indicate that you can restore settings etc. If it is not the original computer that you are using you will be able to reset it but will lose the information on it. Try connecting it to iTunes, turning off the ipad, then hold both the lock and the home button for 10 seconds, then relese the lock button while continuing to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes the iPad. Then you should be able to reset it without problem.
