The solution to this problem will result on the deletion of all data. Turn off your iPad, then, connect your iPad to your computer while pressing and holding the home button. Let go of the home button when your iPad says, "Connect to iTunes," and then restore using iTunes.

SOURCE: cant remember my passcode for my ipad

plug it into the original computer that you set it up with and through itunes you will be able to reset it. Once the ipod appears under devices click on the restore button it will indicate that you can restore settings etc. If it is not the original computer that you are using you will be able to reset it but will lose the information on it. Hope this helps.

I forgot my ipad passcode and never synced to a computer

If you forgot your iPad passcode and never synced it with a computer, don't worry - you can still unlock it. The only official solution is to erase the iPad and set it up again, because Apple cannot bypass the passcode without wiping the device for security reasons. Here are the working methods: Method 1: Use iPad Recovery Mode
Step 1 - Turn Off the iPad
Step 2 - Put iPad into Recovery Mode
For iPads with Home button
Hold Home button while connecting to the computer.
Keep holding until recovery screen appears.
For iPads without Home button
Hold Top button while connecting to the computer.
Keep holding until recovery screen appears.
You'll see a computer + cable icon.
Step 3 - Restore the iPad
Open Finder or iTunes.
A message appears saying:"There is a problem with the iPad..."
Click Restore (NOT Update).
Method 2: Use Third-party Tool Like TunesKit iPhone Unlocker It is an unlock tool for unlocking iPhone screen lock without passcode wtih a few clicks. main-interface-tjcucf33m5ls2riadgag3o1k-d-0.jpg

My daughter forgot her iPad screen lock. How do I reset it?

If you have forgotten the screen passcode, you'll need a computer to restore your iPad as long as you have synchronized your device with the computer. You can reset your passcode and resynchronize the data from the device or restore it from an iCloud backup.

If you are using another computer that you never synchronized the iPad with, you will only be able to unlock the device and you will lose the data on the iPad.

I need help with the passcode for my ipad

Is there anything wrong with the passcode? If your iPad is locked and you forget the passcode, please follow the steps below to unlock it.

1.Connect your iPad to your PC or Mac.
2.Select your device in the iTunes sidebar, and click the"Summary" tab.
3.Click "Check for Update". iTunes will show you if there any new version of iPad software is available.
4.Click "Restore iPad". You can finish the restore process by following the instructions given. During the process, a recommend that tells you to back up your files will be given. You can restore your data after the process is complete.

Now, you must have restored your iPad.
Note: Even you bring your iPad to the Apple service center, Apple staff also need to restore your iPad to unlock it. That's to say, you need to erase everything on it.

Moved house. Did not turn on the ipad for two weeks. Battery was flat. Tried to turn it on and it asks for a passcode. Have typed in my passcode, but it does not recognise the code.

That's very odd.. You are sure you didn't put the code in wrong or remembered it incorrectly?

If you forgot the code to your iPad you may have to reset it to factory defaults by plugging it into your PC unless you have a backup you can restore.

Reset 4 digit lock code for iPad 2

Hi John,

If you cannot remember your lock code, you will need to restore your device as new or be able to restore a backup if you cannot remember your lock code.

If you do remember your lock code you can update it in the settings app:

Click on Settings and then scroll down to the Passcode option (you may have to scroll down a bit). This will bring you to the Passcode Lock menu where you can turn off or update your lock code.

Hope that helps!

Ipad disabled b/c son forgot his password...help us get in?

If your son cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your iPad using the computer you last synced your iPad with. Using the last computer you synced with allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync all your data, apps, etc.

To begin the process, connect the iPad to your computer using the USB cable or lightning cable. Open iTunes and select the restore option.

If you restore on another computer, you can still unlock the device and remove the passcode, but your data and apps will be wiped.

Hope that helps!
