You can restore your epad to factory settings by going to the settings menu > privacy > Factory data reset. and then your epad should be running normally again.

I'm having exactly the same problem. At first I thought it might be the battery, but if I unplug it, I can still hear facebook alerts, email alerts, etc and if I play around with it (turn it from side to side and press the lockout button repetitively) it will flash the lock screen for an instant - sometimes for a few enticing seconds - and then black. If I plug the charger in while it's powered off I can see the battery icon just fine. The screen WORKS - I just can't see the "desktop". I can't figure out how to do a hardcore reset other than the little pinhole button in the back, but it seems like that just powers it off. I can't see the screen if it gives any options, so I dunno. PLEASE help if you know anything.
