There are two version of the Java installer. There's an online installer that the recommend but it only works if you have a decent connection. You can get that from http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=88627 or from browsing around their website.

The other (and my preferred) method is to download the offline installer. I have run into fewer issues that way. The link to get that one is http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=86895

Unable to install flash player in internet explorer 8.. after agreeing activex controls its giving a dialog box saying gp.cab publisher not verified.. i am downloading it from the adobe site itself yet it...
Make sure you don't have any prior versions of Adobe Flash Player in your system. Look in "programs and features" and make sure. If you have prior versions, uninstall them. You have to be out of all apps when downloading, IE: Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, some Yahoo mails, anything that accesses internet. You will be asked to allow Active X and you should get warned about things you're in that won't allow download which, you can get out of by minimizing download, getting out, then returning to download. If it's easier, save the download to file, get out of everything, then open file and download. Adobe has a pretty good help section. You will also want to have Java, if you have Java, make sure it's up to date. You can check in "control panel", click on the Java icon then the update tab. If you don't have Java, you can get it here:

I believe this is what you are looking for it's Java by Sun Microsystems. It is necessary for alot of different things but most commonly games. Make sure you don't have any prior versions in your system before download. You will probably want this too, if you don't already have it:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
This and Java go hand in hand. At the end of the download, you will ahve the opportunity to download Adobe Reader which is also good to have mainly for PDF files.

.jar is an extension that is used for Java files.
I'd download the Java software and the JRE as well.

Java not loading it is saying not found
You need to have downloaded the latest Java Development Kit: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u25-download-346242.html

Then once its installed open the command line (type cmd into the search bar and hit enter). Type java and hit enter into the command line and it should come up with commands to do regarding Java. If so then it has found it.

Uninstall and reinstall if you have already done this as sometimes the 'CLASSPATH' becomes faulty. If it still didn't work right-click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables and look for a variable called 'CLASSPATH'. If it isn't there you need to add a new one and point it to where you installed Java.

When i download on ma phone, i get jar invalid command
The Invalid jar command is simply because you're downloading a java application not meant for your phone's version of the java software.
This is corrected by simply downloading Java applications meant for your phone, Thousands of which can be found at www.getjar.com
If you are absolutely sure that the Java applications you are downloading are designed for your specific device, You may have to try A) a master reset and/or B) upgrading the software/firmware of your device.

My Java will not download any more.
I would prefere to first uninstall JAVA compeletely from your computer. To do that go to Start-->Setting-->Control Panel-->Programs & Features-->Fiind & Select JAVA-->Right click and click on Unistall.

Once you uninstall the JAVA, you can downlaod it from Internet and install it again.
