When I boot the server, it goes through Adaptec Raid Configuration Utility and then waits for the controller to Start. Then pops-up with a Fatal Error: Controller Kernel PANIC !! Unknown firmware error. Error code: C7

Have you checked the IBM website for BIOS and any firmware to download and update for the controller? It can get to be a maze with server cards.

Replace the flat cable on the motherboard of SAS1 to SAS2. Resolved.

First check the OS compatibility for you motherboard here:

Then, if compatible, check the IDE/SATA setting. Change the hard drive controller settings from IDE to AHCI or vice versa to see if the OS kernel panics on boot. If that does not work, please reply with your OS version and motherboard model.
