F code My washer stopped after the rinse cycle and now F 51 flashes. I can't find what the F codes mean anywhere. The manual says call for service, but they can't come for a week. Does anyone know what the F codes are and what they mean?

I also had the F 51 code. I was so scared that I was going to have to pay a ton to have my washer fixed, but I took off the back of my washer, and sure enough, just like the above experiences, there was a t-shirt stuck. Mine wasn't so easy to get out, but after LOTS of trial & error, (I actually ended up using a 3 hook fishing hook) my washer is running again! I am so grateful for the above suggestions! THANKS FixYa!

I tried all of the suggestions from the first reply. Then I did as the second reply and took the back off and spun the drum. There were a pair of shorts stuck between the drum and plastic wall. I also used a straightened metal coat hanger to remove the garment.

I too was getting the f51code. After trying the above remedy, unpugging the power, and disconnecting and reconnecting all other connections,(none of these helped in my problem, however). I took off the back of the washer and manually spun the tub. Lo and behold, a t-shirt had gotten between the tub and the wall, thus creating my error code. It was easily removed with a straighted coat hanger.

Cari, your code means that there is a motor position sensor failure. There has been an issue with the first generation control boards on these washers and I do believe they have revised the board to take care of these issues. It could be just a loose harness going to the board but I would have the tech check it out. If you want you can put it into a manual test mode by doing the following; turn the power button on, choose any button except power, start and stop. Press for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press for 3 seconds. If you entered it correctly, the consol will light up with an 88 showing in the display. While this 88 is showing, press the same key again, this puts you in the manual mode. In this manual mode, press the spin speed key, this will test the motor and possibly home it. To exit the test, just hit cancel/stop. If you can't get into the test mode, you will have to wait for the tech. Catriver..post back
