Your nuvi has Garmin Lock activated, a security feature to make the unit useless to thieves and to protect your data if the unit is lost.

Unless you know the security location used when the pin code was set, or can remember (or ask the last owner for) the pin code, then your unit cannot be used without sending it back to Garmin (proof of original purchase required)..

Usually if you switch on the unit at home it should over ride the pin code. you can then reset another pin code. This is of course if home has been set into the GPS

Lost sim pin
If you have lost the PIN code, the only choice is entering the PIN three times so to trigger the PUK code request.

Once you get the PUK code request, the PUK code can be obtained contacting the company that released the SIM.

The only other alternative to find back a lost PIN is going to a Phone shop. They will do same things as above.

I had forgot my pin code.
Default PIN is for your SIM, not the phone! It's 1111, PIN2 is 2222. The default security code is 12345.
But you need to contact your service provider as you have changed your pin code and lost it.

phone ask's for pin code when i turn it on ...

solution:
In most cases, your operator or service provider is the best source of assistance with PIN and PUK codes.PIN (Personal Identification Number) and PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code.

Please contact your operator or service provider for assistance with your PIN and/or PUK codes. If you have already contacted your service provider and the code provided did not work, you will have to obtain a new SIM card from your operator or service provider.
