Paper jam - Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer

Hello and Welcome to FixYa! If you have paper jammed then follow the given steps to resolve the issue, For your ease the picture of each step is also given:-
1.Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.

2.Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer and Open the front cover


3.Pull out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly slowly. The jammed paper will be pulled out with the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.

4. Open the back cover and Pull the tab towards you to open the Rear Chute Cover.


5. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out easily, push down the tab with one hand as you gently pull the paper out with othpaper jam - n00h_5.jpgsrc="/uploads/images/n00h_5.jpg" alt="n00h_5.jpg" class="h_mi" />

6. Close the back cover and Push the lock lever down and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit. Take out the jammed paper if there is any insidepaper jam - n00h_6.jpgunit.

7.Put the toner cartridge back into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place, If you put it in properly, the lock levpaper jam - n00h_7.jpgft automatically.

8.Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in the printer, Put the paper tray firmly in the printer. Close the front cover.Make sure that papepaper jam - n00h_8.jpgow off. Printer is ready now.

If the jammed paper is removed completely by given steps you can install the paper tray first, and then close the front cover and the printer will resume printing automatically. If the printer does not start printing automatically,Turn the Printer ON and Press the Go Button.
